OUR STORY

Over 50 years ago, Leon Henry conceived of the idea that is behind Insert Media. Basically, it was and is to find two marketers with something in common and "marry" their customers at little or no cost and great advantage to each.

Originally, he called it "media interaction" as it referred to advertising placed by one company on or in the supermarket distributed bags of grocery and drug store chains.

This concept expanded to include mailers using statements of department stores, banks, brokerage houses as well as co-operative mailings and packages of ordered merchandise.

What started as a husband and wife enterprise from the kitchen table, has become the leading company in Insert Media partnership marketing, which includes Insert Media Brokerage & Management.

Over the years, our services have expanded to include mailing list brokerage and management, as well as space, FSI and card deck advertising and websert advertising. With an experienced staff of professionals, as well as two Florida branch offices, we are ready to share our direct marketing knowledge with you.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR 50 PLUS YEARS

1956-Leon Henry incorporates as Salesbag Promotions Inc. in Buffalo, NY to sell advertising on supermarket distributed grocery bags.

1958-Company moves to Ardsley, NY.

1964-First inserts distributed.

1965-Name changed to Leon Henry Inc.

1966-Company moves to Scarsdale, NY.

1967-Leon joins DMMA and attends first Convention (DMMA 50th convention).

1976-LH Management Division opens.

1991-Leon Henry honored by Target Magazine as one of “Industry Top 200.”

1991-95-Leon Henry Inc. nominated as one of “top 50” privately owned firms in Westchester County.

1992-Leon Henry nominated for and received Silver Apple from the New York Direct Mail Club.

1992,1994,1999 and 2002-Leon Henry Inc. finalist Westchester County Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

1992-Leon Henry receives first Founder’s Award from Hudson Valley Direct Mail Club of which he is past president.

2002-Leon Henry spearheads industry effort to change name of Alternative Media to Insert Media.

2002-Joel Katz receives Insert Media honor from Insert Media Council.

2003-First ever Insert Media Day launched.

2003-Linda Callahan honored by Insert Media Council.

2003-Company moves to 200 N. Central Ave., Hartsdale, NY.

2006-Leon Henry Inc. celebrates 50 years in business.

2006-Leon Henry receives "Stevie" award from American Business Awards.

2006-Leon Henry Inc. receives Corporate Silver Apple award from NYDMC.

2007- Leon Henry Inc. receives NYS Women Business Development designation.

2008- Leon Henry Inc. receives Women Business Enterprise Certification.

2009- Leon Henry Inc. Interactive opens a full service online agency.

2009- Leon Henry Inc. Interactive website launched.
